Seattle Children's Hospital Celebrates Safety Week
In conjunction with IHI, SPS is celebrating Safety Week on March 12-18! In celebration of #SPSsafetyweek2023, we’re highlighting the awesome patient and employee safety improvement work going on within our organizations! Next up is Seattle Children's Hospital who’s celebrating Rachael Pickard, Lynn Tran, Johanna Sanchez-Vargas, Shanda Johnson, Maggie Lackey, Aubrey Welp, and Ally Nisbet.
Safety is foundational to the work done at Seattle Children’s Hospital. One of the ways they celebrate and reinforce their commitment to providing safe, quality care to every patient, every time, is through Safety Awareness Week. Historically, Seattle Children’s has observed National Patient Safety Awareness Week as a way to grow more awareness about patient safety and highlight safety and quality improvement work.
With their steadfast commitment to health equity and anti-racism, and elevating quality and safety to produce the best outcomes for patients and their families, they've changed their approach to safety awareness week by being more intentional and inclusive of what safety is at Seattle Children’s.
This week they are celebrating “Safer Together,” which emphasizes the role that workforce safety plays in patient safety, equity, and vice versa. The activities associated with the different safety themes below help them to elevate the importance of safety and reinforce our culture of safety.
Each weekday features a different safety theme:

Wednesday, March 15: Environment of Care
